On the eleventh month, on the eleventh day, at the eleventh hour - one minute of remembrance
Every year the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen and the Rotary Interact Club at SDSS participate in the act of remembering. Interact members install crosses in front of the Longhouse on 56th Street.  Those crosses bear the names of the fallen and are a visible reminder of the loss of life that war brings.  On November 11th the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen is represented at Memorial Park Cenotaph in Ladner and lays a wreath of remembrance.   By remembering the devastation of war and sacrifices that were made and continue to be made today, we hopefully can move forward to creating a space for peace.
Peace is an important concept for Rotary and Rotarians. Rotary International projects give hope and help as well as build bridges across worlds.  Rotary Peace Scholars learn how to promote and facilitate peace in areas of conflicts. Our  local Peace Day celebrations show us how peace serves our own community.
May we all remember and reflect on this day in our own way, and appreciate how the sacrifice of others has shaped the community in which we all live today.
