The new lights at the Rotary Water Park in Diefenbaker Park seem to be a hit. The recent ceremony to LIGHT UP THE PARK was as much a hit as the lights themselves. The community turned out and was treated to not only Free hot chocolate but some excellent Carolling by students from Beach Grove Elementary School.

Positive comments from the local residents have been received by Rotarians and in the words of one who took the time to write to us:

I live next to Diefenbaker Park and was able to enjoy Light Up the Park. Congratulations to the Rotary volunteers who thought of this celebration and worked to put it together. I have wished that Tsawassen had an event like Ladner's tree lighting ceremony with its families and strollers and well-behaved dogs and school choirs and no-charge hot chocolate and now it appears we have. I hope you do this again next year and that it becomes a distinctive tradition people look forward to.

That certainly is our intent so thank you to everyone involved.
